a case for kindness

CAMPAIGN
CAMPUS PARTICIPATORY

CHASING KINDNESS DURING THE LENTEN SEASON

In 2018, The University of Dayton's Campus Ministry decided to spearhead a Lenten kindness initiative. Based on Lisa Barrickman's Book, A Case for Kindness, students were asked to accept a 40-day kindness challenge. During those 40 days, students worked to perform an intentional act of kindness every day. The goal was to spread kindness and compassion on campus and highlight the ripple effect of joy.

My role:

As the Campus Ministry graphic designer, I worked very closely with the office from the start of the initiative, through its completion. A major element of the campaign was to generate awareness of it. Thus, I created a design brand for the campaign as well as several flyers and marketing mediums. I also designed the elements of the initiative that would go to participants: sticky notes for people to write their random acts of kindness on, inspirational cards, and a kindness calendar.

PROJECT COMPONENTS:

Created the general flyers that raised awareness of the campaign and other Lenten events.

Designed post-it notes that read, "My kind act of the day was _________." These were stuck up around campus.

Formatted a calendar for the initiative.

Designed a series of kindness cards that featured inspirational quotes.
